Aubrey Meloy and John “JT” Byers got to spend time with the Blackhawks through Make-A-Wish, meeting players, going behind the scenes and taking part in morning skate on the ice at the United Center.
Aubrey lives with long QT syndrome and after losing her father unexpectedly in 2018, hockey became a way to stay connected to his memory. She is a competitive figure skater and loves singing, musicals and volunteering.
JT was born with cystic fibrosis, a condition that once made sports difficult. Thanks to treatment, he now plays for the Dallas Penguins 16U Minor team, referees and mentors young skaters.
