Language is never neutral, and the language we use to talk about climate change impacts the way we respond to it.
Sandra Valnes Quammen, a Duke professor with Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, explains how the language we use about climate change frames the way we understand the problem and how we can solve it.
Let’s Talk About Climate Change is an interdisciplinary class for first-year students that encourages exploration of climate change from perspectives in the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and the arts. Incoming students will see it offered as part of the How Does Climate Affect Our World Constellation series. This video series "Climate Is..." highlights perspectives from faculty who taught in the course, like Valnes Quammen.
