A group of first-year students at the University of Michigan noticed something was wrong right outside their own windows, and they chose to act. Living at Oxford Houses, students identified high-collision windows and took it on themselves to make them safer for birds, installing Feather Friendly markers as part of a hands-on sustainability course. “The students were eager to take on something visible and immediate — something they could experience every day,” said Daisy Hall, assistant director for the umich.msc.
