GOOD NEWS: Last week, Yvon Chouinard, the 83-year-old founder of Patagonia, transferred ownership of his outdoor apparel company — valued at $3 billion with yearly profits of $100 million — to a new nonprofit dedicated to fighting climate change.

NOT-SO-GOOD NEWS: Three powerful tropical cyclones walloped Alaska, Japan, and Puerto Rico within the past week, and all three were intensified by climate change. Typhoon Merbok, Typhoon Nandamol, and Hurricane Fiona are causing devastating damage. If we don’t take climate action, storms like these will only get worse.
