An Oregon couple’s campaign to restore the Santiam Pass Ski Lodge is rooted in happy memories Santiam Pass Ski Lodge is located just off Highway 20 in Oregon’s Central Cascades, west of Sisters. In its heyday, the lodge offered overnight accommodations to guests, featured a large main lounge with a stone fireplace, operated a dining room, and included areas for ski rental and maintenance. Initially a popular stop for winter skiers and summertime visitors, the lodge increasingly faced financial challenges. Dwight and Susan Sheets, who grew up in Salem, remember visiting the Santiam Pass Ski Lodge when they were young. “We were skiers, and did every outdoor activity,” said Dwight, 65.
