On my third winter trip to the islands at the end of January, mother nature finally gave me the snowy landscapes I was looking for. It can be surprisingly warm here in the winter, so I recommend staying at least a week on the islands to maximize your chances of having lots of snow. You can see the northern lights almost every night if the sky is clear. They can start suddenly and last for 10 minutes, so you should stay really alert and not miss them. But if you get lucky, they will dance in the sky the whole night!"
