Our students deserve to have their mental health and wellness prioritized in their learning environments. Zero-tolerance discipline policies intended to maintain safety in schools often target the students most in need of support and protection. Instead, we must prioritize programs that view students as children and create #PoliceFreeSchools by dismantling harsh discipline policies to meet our students’ needs to thrive in schools.
