One day in July 1701, Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac founded what became known as the City of Detroit, and the continent has never been the same. On the eve of Detroit’s 315th birthday — Saturday, July 23, 2016 — Cinema Detroit will celebrate with French food and film. Enjoy freshly-made savory and sweet crepes by The French Cow Pop Up Crepes. Vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free options will all be available. A screening of heartwarming comedy THE INTOUCHABLES (2011) will follow. The film’s theme of friendship across lines of race, class, and ability has never been more relevant. And in the spirit of the occasion, we’ll also have some French-themed surprises. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for crepes. Movie will start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 each and include two crepes, one savory (including salad) and one sweet, plus admission to the film.
