One pregame gimbal move I use every game.
Seconds before tipoff is my favorite window to shoot.
Teams break the huddle, the crowd locks in, and you can feel the energy spike. I like staying on the court with my dji_ronin RS3 and a venuslaowa 10mm f/2.8 to keep things wide and show the full arena — but this time, one of our guys was clearly getting in the zone.
So instead of just going wide, I let the moment guide the shot:
• stayed low on the gimbal
• slow, controlled movement
• focused on body language instead of action
This reel shows both sides at the same time:
– the final on the Sony FX3 sonycine sonyalpha
– the 360 BTS angle from the insta360 X3 so you can see what it actually looked like while filming
Pregame isn’t about forcing motion — it’s about reading the moment and letting the energy lead the camera.
