Honda once made an ad for the Civic Type R that was literally two ads at the same time. ㅤ Not two spots in a series. ㅤ Two ads playing on top of each other in the same video. ㅤ They called it The Other Side. ㅤ The story followed one man living a double life: ㅤ caring father during the day, ㅤ and wild getaway driver at night. ㅤ But here’s the part no one saw coming. ㅤ Honda worked with YouTube to build a custom feature that let viewers press the R key to instantly switch between the two versions of the ad. ㅤ One tap, and the tone flipped. ㅤ Why do this? ㅤ Because Honda wanted to prove the Civic Type R was both things at once. A real performance car, but still a Civic you could live with every day. ㅤ When the campaign launched alongside print and cinema, it blew people’s minds. ㅤ The ad won awards from Cannes Lions, The One Show, British Arrows, and Auto Express. But the most impressive stat wasn’t the trophies. ㅤ Viewers were spending over three minutes actively interacting with the ad....
