Ask me your photography questions in the comments 📸 How I shot this photo for EuroLeague. I’m a freelance sports photographer and this was Olympiacos vs Barcelona in Greece. Every game I try to cover as many angles as possible, from the baseline to the top of the arena, but for the fourth quarter I positioned myself behind the backboard with a specific shot in mind. I wanted a big play with the crowd exploding in the background, everything happening in one frame. The light in the arena was good, so I shot ISO 2000, 1/1000 shutter speed, and f4 to keep some depth and capture player reactions. A lot of sports photography comes down to luck, but when Tyrique Jones went up for this dunk, I was already framed and ready. I jumped to make sure nothing blocked my view and let the shutter go as the play unfolded. The dunk sealed the win for Olympiacos, so as soon as the game ended I did a quick edit in Lightroom and sent it straight to EuroLeague so they could post it immediately. Big games mo...
