I absolutely love an intentional speech. Having family members speak at receptions is traditional and can truly be so special, if done in the right way.
Some new trends I have seen is that people are now doing speeches at rehearsal dinners instead – you still get the same importance and personalization, while keeping it intimate for the ones who it matters most for. It's the best of both worlds because it then allows your guests to enjoy every second of the reception as well!
