More than a year after the ousting of Bashar al-Assad, explosive remnants continue to kill civilians, block safe returns, and prevent communities from rebuilding. In Deir Ezzor alone, hundreds of thousands of landmines remain buried across farmland, roads, and residential areas. SETF is actively leading organized landmine clearance operations, working to identify contaminated zones, remove explosives, and restore safe movement for civilians. In the past nine months, our teams have removed over 21,000 landmines.
