Patti Zhou made her Snow League debut at just 14 years old. In her first event, she advanced through the head-to-head bracket to reach the women’s final. In that final she faced Mitsuki Ono of Japan and, after Ono took the opening run, Zhou responded with a strong second run to force a tiebreak.
In the deciding run Zhou added a frontside 1080 to her run which would earn a score of 79.66 to Ono’s 76.33. Coming into the weekend as an alternate, Zhou’s precise riding under pressure secured her first professional title. This victory also earned her 100 Snow League World Championship points and the first-place prize money ($50,000).
