Whew, it has been a whirlwind these past few weeks. Mayor Helena Moreno’s first Mardi Gras as mayor is officially in the books, and after the traditional Bourbon Street sweep took place at midnight last night, it finally hit me. Another season in New Orleans wrapped in music, culture, and unforgettable moments. From attending my first ball, to finally making it to Muses, to witnessing the spectacle that is the Endymion extravaganza, every experience reminded me why this city moves the way it does. Tradition met new energy, and I was grateful to capture it all through my own lens. One of my favorite moments was the Laissez les bons temps rouler swap between Coach Kim Mulkey and Mayor Moreno. Coach Mulkey gifted the Mayor one of her signature jackets, and Mayor Moreno presented Coach with an exclusive piece from local Fringe and Company. Honestly, that felt like a tradition in the making.
