French Para snowboard legend Cécile Hernandez captured gold in the women’s SB-LL2 snowboard cross at the 2026 Winter Paralympics, continuing a meaningful tradition of topping the podium around International Women’s Day. 🏂
The 51-year-old French icon secured her second straight Paralympic gold in the event, after previously winning at the 2022 Winter Paralympics almost exactly four years earlier. Now a five-time Paralympic medalist, Hernandez has reached the podium at every Paralympic Winter Games since 2014. 💪
This victory carried extra emotion, with Hernandez’s 18-year-old daughter watching in person for the first time. After crossing the finish line, she formed a heart with her hands toward the stands before tearfully celebrating on the podium. ❤️
