This is a first for me...
Back in December, I was contacted by the North Shore Winter Club U13 A1 team to film some games and go to the Quebec Peewee Tournament with them. It all started with their teddy bear toss game on December 13th. Little did I know that only three months later I'd be tearing up making a post about that same team.
If you are lucky, you will get to experience a team where everyone meshes, like a big family. If you are even more lucky that team will also perform to the highest standard on the ice. NSWC U13 A1 hit the jackpot this year. Great players on ice, and even better families and people off the ice.
Losing in tournaments is never fun, but how you come back and rise to the next challenge on the biggest stage, that sets apart the real winners. Going to the finals against the top seed team who beat you 6-1 a day earlier, all to beat them in the finals? That's something that movies are made of.
Congratulations to the NSWC U13 A1 team, you are forever champions...
