According to seanmarkingle of The Guardian, the London Marathon is in advanced talks to stage a two-day “Double London Marathon” on April 24-25, 2027, which would split 100,000 runners (50,000 per day) across a weekend for the first time in the race’s nearly 45-year history. The proposal is believed to have the backing of the mayor’s office, though formal approval has not yet been granted. Last year’s race featured 56,540 finishers, who raised £87.3M for charity. The 2026 London Marathon is set for April 26th.
