On March 23rd, a U.S. federal jury in Virginia found Antoine Kassis, a cousin of Bashar al-Assad, guilty of conspiracy to commit narco-terrorism and conspiracy to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization.
SETF played a direct role in bringing Kassis to justice. Working in coordination with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), SETF helped infiltrate narco-trafficking networks, provided testimony and intelligence, and collaborated in building the case against Kassis over the course of the years-long investigation.
