The Oregon Zoo has a new quinquagenarian. The chimpanzee Delilah turned 50 years old last week. She was born at the zoo on May 25, 1973, back when it was known as the Portland Zoological Gardens. Delilah can claim a famous friend. When she was young, conservationist Jane Goodall visited regularly with Oregon’s chimps and got to know them.
