Happy #TeacherAppreciationWeek ! Read on below for our second #SonderStory celebrating the excellent educators who work in our partner communities. --- (Part 1 / 3) On the other side of the continent, in Burkina Faso, is another terrific teacher working with Sonder Project sponsored students, Mr. Abdoulaye Ouedraogo. At the young age of 32, Mr. Abdoulaye is already a seasoned educator, having taught professionally for 6 years, 2 of those years at La Harvarde school in the community of Sakoinse where The Sonder Project works. Yet Abdoulaye tells us that he has been an educator well before he even graduated high school. Due to his love and talent in mathematics, Abdoulaye tutored his peers and younger students all throughout high school and university. But it wasn’t until Grade 11 that Abdoulaye met a math teacher that inspired him to pursue teaching as a career. “I thought about it and I said to myself why not also bring my touch to inspire students and improve the field?" ...
