Meta is striking while the iron's hot. Following a few questionable updates made by Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, Meta is dropping their own text-based conversation app, making it Twitter's biggest rival yet. With a striking resemblance to the current Twitter user interface, Threads poses the greatest risk to our long-loved blue bird app, because it is being spearheaded by Meta, which brought us Facebook and Instagram.
Many Twitter users have already expressed their concerns regarding the platform's newest updates and catering towards Twitter Blue users, fearing that paid subscriptions are changing the app for the worse. Threads couldn't have picked a better time to launch.
Threads is set to go live tomorrow (July 6, 2023), and is already on the app store. Will you be downloading? Do you think this is the end of Twitter?
