Day 776 marked an emotional celebration for Lorelei “Lolo” and her family: her final infusion treatment of chemo, final spinal tap and port removal. The day they’ve all been waiting for since receiving her leukemia diagnosis in May of 2021. It all happened really fast as Lolo began rigorous treatment, many blood transfusions, surgeries and hospital visits with the care team at Children’s. Now, at 7 years old, she’s endured so much more than her positive, fun-loving attitude would ever let you think. Lolo displayed incredible courage and resilience as she simultaneously completed her kindergarten year and underwent cancer treatment. Representation in pop culture has been powerful for Lolo as she’s tackled unique challenges, like losing her hair. She enjoys watching Netflix show Alexa & Katie about a teenage girl fighting cancer because she’s able to connect with their experiences.
