Twenty Iowa nonprofits and organizations will each receive thousands of dollars to boost their programs and offer more long-term support for refugees. The state's Bureau of Refugee Services plans to pour more than $3 million into the select groups using federal money awarded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement, according to a news release.
