Georgia Academy for the Blind is making yearbooks accessible to its blind and #visuallyimpaired students with the help of @merceryou and #3Dprinting. With a #3D yearbook, students can: Touch 3D versions of their classmates' faces and hair, read their names in #Braille and partake in a common practice where standard yearbooks fall short. How does it work? 1. Students' faces are scanned in a matter of minutes. 2. Staff members edit the 3D images to remove imperfections. 3. Scans are printed out, which can take several months.
