Sound up 🔊 🆙 Every time I go back to Africa and here the blessed voices of my brothers and sisters I think about my ancestors and how resilient yet Royal they are. I think about how fortunate I am because of their sacrifices. I think about how although this world is broken Gods Will is perfect and cannot be thwarted. I think about the greatness in my DNA passed down from generation to generation. But I also get this feeling of grief knowing I can only go back accurately a few generations while adding in the ever-present attempts to whitewash history. The only way I can describe it is that It’s a feeling of something missing. Not of something lost but of something invaluable like a birthright that was stolen. Even though that feeling try’s to overwhelm me the longer I listen I can hear my ancestors in their voices encouraging me to keep pushing and to never lose hope or my identity in who God purposed me to be. #hope #love #ancestors #soulful #motherland
