I tried toogoodtogo.usa !! if you haven’t heard of this new-ish (maybe??) app, the whole concept behind it is you “rescue” extra food from bakeries and eateries that would normally go unsold (and get thrown out) for a deeply discounted price. I hate food waste and I love a little treat, so after seeing a couple viral videos about it I had to try it out myself! So far around me, there’s mostly donut shops on there, but I think it might be fairly new in OC. I feel like I had an exceptional first experience as when I arrived for my surprise bag, they actually filled a box with a dozen fresh donuts from the case for me. I was shook!! of course, I could not eat 12 donuts so I actually made cake pops with the majority of them… which worked surprisingly well?! they turned out so much rounder than when I use cake and stayed on the sticks very well.
