Mark Bingham was a rugby star at Los Gatos High School, captain of the team. At Cal, he went on to play championship rugby. He was known as aggressive on the field, an excellent star flanker. He stood well over six feet and weighed well over 200 Ibs. On the inside though? "A teddy bear," is how his friends described him. Bingham was the last last person to board Flight 93 on September 11th, 2001. Within 45 minutes of takeoff, hijackers took over the aircraft. When hearing the news of the attacks on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, the passengers aboard flight 93 knew they had to prevent their plane from being the next terrorist weapon. They decided to overtake the hijackers. Bingham was front and center along with three other businessmen who were also former athletes: Tom Burnett, Todd Beamer and Jeremy Glick. Flight recordings documented how the men rushed the cockpit door forcing hijackers to abort the mission of crashing into the U.S. Capitol building. The plane crashed in a field...
