I was a 5-star high school football recruit. But I would’ve been a lot better and got a whole lot more offers if I paid attention to this one part of my training. SLEEP. I got told a lot that “sleep is important” when I was playing, but I didn’t listen as well as I should have. I just took it as another story. Today we have data, and these findings are insane. A study by the University of Pittsburgh found that football players who slept an average of 8.5 hours per night for 7 weeks had significantly improved reaction times, accuracy, and sprint times. A study by the University of California, Berkeley found that football players who were sleep-deprived made more mistakes on cognitive tests and were more likely to be injured during games. A huge factor in causing sleep deprivation is sleep apnea. Athletes are at a way higher risk for it, but the solutions aren’t talked about enough. @Lofta | Sleep Apnea Experts provides an at-home sleep test so you can find out if you have sleep apnea...
