So Oregon depends on migrants moving into the state to provide workers to grow the economy. That worked out fine in the years immediately after the Great Recession, when large numbers of people were moving into Oregon and considerably fewer were leaving. But new census data out last month showed the trend reversed in 2022, and that far more people were leaving than moving here.
