At #Mipcom this week, Gerhard Zeiler, President, International spoke about WBD’s international growth strategy in an era of transformation. Gerhard was joined by Leah Hooper Rosa, SVP, Head of Streaming EMEA to make the following announcements about the launch of Max in Europe next year: ▶️In Spring 2024 Max will initially launch in the 22 countries that currently offer HBO Max: Nordics, Iberia, Netherlands, and Central Eastern Europe. ▶️Max will bring sports fans the most extensive coverage of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. This has been confirmed for the existing European HBO Max markets for now. ▶️It was also made official that Max will stream Eurosport's unrivalled sports coverage of competitions like Grand Slam tennis and cycling's Grand Tour in Europe. ▶️Additionally, it was announced that WBD's enhanced streaming service will launch in France and Belgium in 2024, our first entirely new European markets.
