Hip 90/90's are a fantastic mobility drill that can be done on a regular basis to help improve hip mobility and joint health.
It's also a great workout warm-up movement as it puts the hip joint through its full range of motion in a slow and deliberate manner and activates and engages the muscles around the hip joint. It's also a great core activator too.
How to:
* in a seated position, with legs straight in front of you, bend your left knee to form a 90degree angle (you many need to lean a little to the right to make this happen).
* now bend your right knee to form a 90degree angle with your right leg.
* for the rotational movement - sit up tall, engage your core and rotate your right knee in front of you as you simultaneously rotate your left knee in the opposite direction
* try to keep your legs at 90degree angles throughout the movement.
* you can use your hands for support or for a more advanced version you can keep them off the floor in front of you.
