In all our programs, we strive to approach solutions holistically and wholeheartedly. There are no silver bullets when it comes to challenges of clean water, education, and food security — all are multi-faceted and inter-connected challenges that require approaches from different angles. Most of all, we take community input on solutions seriously — when the community identifies a gap, we will always assess if and how we can help to close it with the resources and capabilities available to have the greatest impact that we can. For example, despite the fact that our education programs focus on student sponsorship and building schools, several of our partner communities in Malawi had informed us of a severe shortage of textbooks. In Kasikidzi, where we have built school blocks, drilled wells, and sponsored students, the local primary school students were sharing one textbook between 5 - 10 students.
