Government works best when it alleviates hardships for the people it serves. This proposal to #CancelStudentDebt for vulnerable borrowers is a powerful example of how @POTUS & @VP continue to do just that. This will be life-changing for nearly 8 million struggling borrowers.

.@POTUS' authority to #CancelStudentDebt using the Higher Education Act is clear. But this unprecedented move—which blocks a rule that doesn't even exist—could stand in the way of relief for millions. The cruelty is the point.

Republicans & their co-conspirators on the far-right Supreme Court continue to harm borrowers & obstruct the student debt cancellation they deserve. They have contempt for the people. But we won't stop fighting to #CancelStudentDebt & deliver the relief borrowers were promised.

Let me make it plain: Thanks to @POTUS, nearly 5M borrowers have benefited from #CancelStudentDebt. That includes nearly 1M public service workers who support our communities every day. More & more borrowers’ lives are changing because of this relief.

Callous Republicans are hell-bent on obstructing student debt relief and these injunctions are just the latest evidence. This will only throw borrowers into chaos and deny them the relief they deserve. We won't stop fighting to #CancelStudentDebt & deliver for borrowers.
