We are looking for a Social Media Manager who will be the strategic, operational, and editorial heartbeat of Formula E's digital output across race weekends, major events and operations for Formula E!
The Role
Based in London, you will drive channel delivery, ideation, sign-off processes, content approvals, live event gallery operations, and line management of the Social Media Execs. You will maintain a seamless approval bridge between stakeholders, partners, and trackside crews to ensure all content meets strict brand standards and platform best practices.
Key Deliverables
- Channel Delivery & Editorial Planning: Lead daily execution across core social platforms (e.g. TikTok, Instagram, X, Threads, Snapchat, YouTube, and Facebook), maintaining an engaging always-on content calendar.
- Approvals & Risk Governance: Manage robust sign-off workflows across internal teams and external partners, serving as the final line of defence to eliminate socio-cultural, religious, and political risks across a multi-region global footprint.
- Live Race Weekend Gallery Operations: Staff and manage digital gallery workflows from our London broadcast facility during race weekends, directing live race clipping, short-form video optimisation, reactive ideation and real-time publishing.
- Story Translation & Creative Direction: Collaborate with the wider team to translate complex sporting, technical, cultural and sustainability stories into platform-native visual posts optimised for best practice and performance.
- Team Leadership & Analytics: Line-manage Social Media Execs, oversee community moderation, and partner with the Insights team to evaluate performance data and refine channel growth strategies.
What We Are Looking For?
- Global Social Management & Governance: Previous experience managing social channels, editorial pipelines, multi-stakeholder sign-offs, and socio-political risk mitigation across a global sports or entertainment brand.
- Live Event & Gallery Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in fast-turnaround event publishing, live race clipping (e.g. Slate, WSC Sports, CapCut, Edits, Adobe Creative Suite). Digital gallery experience preferred.
- Editorial & Platform Mastery: Outstanding short-form copywriting, platform algorithm savvy, and cultural trend awareness to translate complex stories into viral, native content.
- Stakeholder Diplomacy & Leadership: Proven track record in line-managing direct reports, overseeing community moderation, and navigating complex partner and rights-holder workflows with diplomacy and detail.
- Agile & Decisive Mindset: Organised, creative, cool under live race-weekend pressure, adaptable across shift patterns, and a collaborative team player in a fast-paced environment with impeccable accuracy.
