Project LEARN Program Spotlight — Students Making Change
Students Making Change is a youth-led group of 20+ Lowell High School students who use their lived experiences to inform the Lowell community on the history and social dynamics of race in America.
With support from adult allies, like amazing LHS educators & program advisors Kendra Bauer and Bryanna Laughlin, the group develops a series of antiracism training sessions, dialogues, and presentations. Then, the students deliver these workshops to their peer groups, Lowell Public Schools educators and staff, and community members around the city. Every year, the group also creates a ‘Class Pictures’ project, inspired by
@dawoudbey. This year’s was titled “Now is the Time” and features SMC Star, Joeury, on the cover!
Thank you to all current and alumni members of Students Making Change, for your commitment to create lasting change in your community and your strength to do so.
