Nic and Paige Dowd’s Dowd’s Crowd and Charlie and Mikkayla Lindgren’s Lindy’s Lineup player programs teamed up with the nonprofit So Kids SOAR to host an adaptive skate on Monday at MedStar Capitals Iceplex.
More than 50 children with physical and developmental disabilities skated with Dowd and Lindgren following practice, Prior to the skate, the So Kids SOAR participants watched the Capitals practice. Teammates T.J. Oshie, Hendrix Lapierre, Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Rasmus Sandin and Beck Malnestyn also participated in the skate.
So Kids SOAR provides free adaptive athletic, recreational and skill-building activities that empower youth with physical and development disabilities.
