“Where are you from?” I am asked this a lot! I used to hate that question, but now I just take it as an opportunity to PROUDLY share who I am and where I am from. I am a second-generation Mexican-American, born and raised in El Paso, Texas. I currently live in the beautiful state of Colorado with my husband and two children. I am a Latina, Tejana, Mexicana, Chicana, Mexican-American, Texican! I am all of them, and I am proud of it. I am so thankful for this online community, especially all the Latinos! I think the one thing that unties all Latinos is our struggle – the need to have a strong voice. Another thing that really unites us is familia y comida – it is a big part of who we are. My mother and my late grandma Jesusita raised me to become the woman, cook, and mother that I am today, and I am forever grateful.
