The rules around furlough have changed. Here's the latest:
From 1st July, the Government's grant decreased to 70% of furloughed employees' wage costs for their unworked hours at a cap of £2187.50
Pay for furloughed employees should however remain at a minimum of 80% at a cap of £2500 which means that employers have to contribute 10% up to £312.50 from their own pocket.
Wait! There's more.....
From 1st August until the scheme comes to an end on September 30th, the Government's grant will decrease for a final time to 60% of furloughed employees' wage for their unworked hours at a cap of £1875.
With the 80% rule still in place, employers will then need to contribute 20% to staff wages up to £625. Therefore, from July through to September employers will have to cover a portion of the employees' wages, national insurance and pension contributions.
