History lesson incoming. 📖 Did you know about these two Native American Red Crossers who dedicated their lives to making a lifesaving difference in their communities? ➡️ Lula Owl Gloyne, the first registered nurse from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, was a Red Cross Nurse during World War I. She was known to cross difficult terrain to deliver babies and provide care to the wounded. Among her many achievements, she helped establish the first hospital for her tribe. ➡️ William F. Tyndall of the Cherokee Indian Reservation in North Carolina served the Red Cross as a First Aid Instructor. Back in 1942, he taught young people lifesaving skills so that they could act with confidence if a member of their tribe experienced an emergency.
