As a result of my posts referencing #discovery in my winning #defamation #lawsuit against 60Mins, theage, CharlotteGriev1 and Ageinvestigates, last night the Nine Network petitioned the #court for an emergency injunction to prevent me from revealing discovery #evidence to the public, as it claimed doing so would "humiliate" the #journalists and "damage their reputations and #careers." Nine's position was that the public should not be allowed to know the "inner and #confidential workings of a broadcaster." In other words, Channel9 doesn't want the public to know the #truth, just the #dishonest and deceitfully edited versions it broadcasts. This is like the #WWE trying to prevent the public from finding out that #professional wrestling isn't real. But #fakenews is far more injurious to the public than fake fights, and it's my civic duty to #expose it. Nine ultimately withdrew its application after the #judge warned that forcing him to rule risked "#damage to people’s #reputations."
