The Nickelodeon Blast Zone, located in Universal Studios Hollywood, was a themed area dedicated to Nickelodeon’s popular characters and shows. Operating from 2001 to 2007, it included several attractions: Nickelodeon Splash, The Wild Thornberrys Adventure Temple, Nick Jr. Backyard and Panasonic Theatre that hosted “Totally Nickelodeon”, an interactive game show that ran from 1997 to 2000. Additionally, “Rugrats Magic Adventure” was part of this zone. It opened in 2001 but closed in 2002 to make way for the Shrek 4-D attraction, which operated from May 2003 to August 2017. This space later became home to the DreamWorks Theatre Featuring Kung Fu Panda, which opened on June 15, 2018. The Nickelodeon Blast Zone itself was eventually rethemed as "The Adventures of Curious George" in 2008, and this too was replaced by "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” in April 7, 2016.
