More than 50 years and 35 gallons of blood later, retired Philadelphia public school teacher Marc Satalof donated his final pint of blood at Penn Medicine earlier this month. It's estimated that Satalof's generosity may have aided in the treatment of up to 900 patients. “If you’ve been blessed with good health and a good heart, you know that there are a lot of people in the world who are a lot less fortunate than you are, and any way you can help those people, you are performing a great service to them,” he said.
