I was about to hit the hay last night and jumped on this app to check in on folks back home whem I received a message from my Dubliner friend paulina.lyonss saying that there is a The Last of Us inspired bar here in Edinburgh. I discovered the place is called thecocktailgeeks and that they do a pop culture themed reconfiguration of their whole bar every 4 months. They are in their last few weeks of the TLOU installment so I immediately got dressed and walked down there. I didn’t know what to expect but when I arrived but I was thoroughly impressed! Their DIY cordyceps infested decor and the detail and consideration in their cocktail menu was incredible! Drinks called “Acquired Taste” which was a coffee infused whiskey drink in a blue tin cup that had an iced cube in it that was imprinted with a broken watch face.
