Youthful Offenders at the Mecklenburg County Juvenile Detention Center now have the opportunity to participate in CPR certification class.
Each juvenile will learn the proper way to give chest compressions, the importance of counting aloud while giving chest compressions,
giving breaths mouth-to-mouth with or without a mask and using an AED.
Upon successful completion of the class the juveniles will receive their CPR certification which will be valid for two years.
Despite the circumstances that led them to the detention center they now have life-saving skills and training to help their community upon release.
