✈️🏒X🇵🇭 > The Winnipeg Jets Filipino Heritage Night Pattern and Numbers > One of the components I was looking forward to work on for this project was the pattern and numbers. As much as I wanted to create an authentic Filipino pattern, but I understood that there is a lot of different patterns that can represent specific regions in the Philippines and may also having specific meanings. So my solution was to create a pattern that still connected to our culture aesthetically and is authentic in its own way. Being a Canadian born Filipino, this is my interpretation of a Filipino pattern. I found inspiration in blankets I remember growing up with, patterns in costumes worn by my kids during magdaragat_philippines Folklorama performances (I actually danced too when I was their age. Lol!) and also tattoos that are worn by tribes in the Philippines and also fashioned by the new generation of Filipinos today.
