USC lost 46-45 in the Cotton Bowl to the Tulane Green Wave after squandering a 15 point lead with less than 5 minutes remaining in the game. The Trojan defense let up over 300 rushing yards.
“[Tulane] kept swinging throughout the ebbs and flows of the game… obviously it’s a huge win for them and their program,” said Head Coach Lincoln Riley. “It’s as tough a loss as I can remember in my career. Obviously didn’t do a very good job finishing there in the end. Losses like this are always just tough to digest.”
Heisman winning quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 462 yards, 5 touchdowns and an interception but Tulane outlasted USC in a high-scoring Cotton Bowl.
