Fred Hampton was assassinated on this day (December 4th) in 1969 by the Chicago Police Department. 👮‍♀️ They did this with this assistance of a Black man who joined the Black Panthers as an FBI informant. Fred Hampton’s goal was to advocate for the Black community, counter racism with socialism, and unite all people under a common class struggle. While he was doing that, he also convinced gangs in Chicago to form a ceasefire. All of these things made him a threat. But why? 🤔 Has the system changed since then? Have we changed since then?
