Crazy to think I did my first ever open water swim just over a year ago. Now I’ve done two open water swims in race scenarios where I’ve gotten pretty used to getting kicked in the face… whacked in the head… my feet pushed down… mouthfuls of water instead of air… It’s crazy out there! But honestly as I got in my corral and prepared to take on the 1.2 mile swim course at my first ironmantri, I took inspiration from the thousands of people who showed up at Indian Wells with wetsuits on, ready to jump in that freezing cold water. This sport is crazy! And so are the people who do it! 🤪 All this to say, if something seems pretty damn far out of your comfort zone but for some reason you also have this nagging feeling that you want to give it a try… why not just try?
