Foreshores across the state will be the focus of a safety blitz this summer, with an influx of locals and visitors expected to head to the beach as the weather (finally!) warms up.
Operation Summersafe will run day and night over the summer months, providing a heightened police presence in and around areas including St Kilda, Half Moon Bay, Altona and Williamstown, as well as across the Mornington Peninsula.
Officers on foot and horseback, as well as on the water, will head to local foreshores, surrounding parks, entertainment precincts and public transport hubs across the next three months.
If you're heading out to enjoy some sun or hit the beaches, remember to:
☀️ Keep your belongings within sight and don't leave valuables unattended
☀️ Swim between the red and yellow flags
☀️ Report any anti-social or criminal behaviour to your local police station.
